Wedding Warriors

Not sure if anyone has even found this little blog, floating about in the eternal space continuum of the internets.  Regardless, here are some pictures from one of the craziest/most fun/memorable weekends of my life: my best friend Lanny's wedding.  Fun, fun, fun!  It was this past September, and I got to see old friends, eat cake, dance, and have a grand ole' time in Tennersee. Oh and I was a bridesmaid too!  Twas fun, twas fun.

Note the ice cream vending machine in my hotel.  Genius!

Folks dining at the wedding!  This is pre-Nikon phase, so no successful low-light photos for moi.

Oh, and little did I know until tonight that this photo is on the venue's website, and I'm on there acting like a turd:
I'm proud of it.  And honestly, props to the venue for posting this goofy ass picture.

Their venue was gorgeous.  I didn't take these:
The last one is my favorite - reminds me of something out of a Wes Anderson film.

Also, my birthday happened recently.  Some of that will be appearing soon...

Ian's First Birthday

Last year my dear friend called me on February 12th to tell me that our godson had arrived in the world, and I couldn't have been happier!  Of course, we had chosen to go out of town for three days thinking he'd wait for us to get back, little bugger... :)  We made sure we were here for his birthday this year.  He's grown up faster than I ever thought he would, and before I knew it his first birthday had arrived.  The place looked so darn cute with Pooh Bear and streamers!

Our friends made a gorgeous little cake for him, along with adorable honey cupcakes for everyone to enjoy.  I need to take notes on how they made these.  They were so creative and very tasty!

On a side note, my friend could not have married a better man this past November.  They make an awesome couple and are turning out to be amazing parents.  I can only hope to have such a happy kid one day.  I don't feel like I'll ever be ready for it, but I'll be calling them for advice when I'm there!

Oh, and I totally want to destroy my birthday cake with my bare hands this year.

All the kids had fun, even the ones my age...

Love you guys.

New Year's Eve, Welcome 2013

I know I'm a little late posting these, but we party hopped!  Hoorah!

Taken by a friend!

Also taken by friend!
 We bought masks.
Husband and me :)

Second party was out in the hill country around a fire while it drizzled out.  Nice way to end/start the years.

Museum!

My brother and I were always with our hands in the dirt, searching for bugs or eating rocks (he was still in diapers), making tiny streams out of the laundry runoff and building forts from piles of sticks.  Now that we're, uh, full grown adults, we decided to take a trip to the UT natural history museum and snap some photos.

I recently graduated with a degree in Anthropology, so this is right up my alley.  I felt like we were kids again, trolling the back yard for adventures as we strolled through the shiny halls of the museum.  Brother is also pretty good with a camera, and he took a few that I decided to edit and post here.
